Carbon Offset Project and Fee
The North American Section of the Society for Conservation Biology believes that it and its members are responsible for both the internal and external environmental costs of its activities. In support of this vision, a pre-calculated optional fee will be included in addition to each conference registration to support the purchase of carbon credits to offset the projected carbon footprint of the 2016 conference. This fee will be calculated to cover a share of the total carbon emitted by the meeting events and by travel of attendees to the conference. The funds raised from this fee will be invested in credits to offset the carbon footprint of our conferfence. Please see details on the selected project.
