Here is some last minute FAQ that we hope will be helpful! 




Available at Monona with the following rates: 

  • Weekdays - $2 per hour or a maximum of $12 per day
  • Weekday entry after 5:00 pm - $5 flat fee
  • Saturday or Sunday - $5 flat fee


Do I need to purchase a ticket for the Opening Reception?

No, this is included in every conference registration, If you are bringing a guest and purchased an extra ticket, you will find this in your conference badge holder (along with tickets for other events)


Can I still purchase tickets for the Closing Reception?

Yes! But only for a limited time, on site, at the registration booth (level 4) between Sunday July 17 - Monday July 18 at 5pm.


What about Story Collider, workshops, short courses, and field trips?

No, sales for these are all closed.


How do I get to Story Collider on campus?

Buses will be available in front of the Level 4 main entrance to take Story Collider attendees to and from the Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID), between 6-7pm. Exact pick up as follows: 


5:45pm load & depart first round of participants

6:30pm load & depart second round of participants


NOTE- Event begins at 7pm. You may choose to take the early bus (5:45pm load) if you wish to explore UW campus prior to the event start (Union South, Camp Randall, Bascom Hill, etc. WID marked as "Discovery Building" on the map).


Return trip: 9:30pm load first round for return, departure back to Monona Terrace. 2nd round to follow.


Where do I get a conference water bottle?

Included in each badge holder is a voucher for one conference water bottle. Turn this in to registration to receive one!


What about Grab & Go Lunch? 

Available for pre-purchase 7:30-8:30am, and again from 9:45-10:30am in Lakeside Commons, Level 1. Pick up will start at 12pm in Exhibit Hall A. We cannot accommodate purchases at 12pm, so don’t forget to pre-purchase your lunch!


AV troubles during a session?:

Use the in-room telephone, dial "0" and a technician will arrive shortly to assist you.


Curious about the projection format?:

All rooms are set for widescreen format, a 16:9 ratio.


Which version of Powerpoint is available on the PCs in each room?

Microsoft Office 2013


Can we record our session?

Symposia organizers may consult with presenters for consent and record presentation audio only with all presenter' permission. This is not possible through Monona's AV system, but you can use an external device to record the room.
